Self Catering Cottages in the Lake District

Our five self-catering cottages in the Lake District provide a great home-from-home base from which to explore. With the exception of Randel Cottage (it’s simply too cosy), all of our cottages have combined a washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and dishwasher – as well as the usual smaller appliances such as microwave, toaster & kettle.

Fantastic location, scenery is amazing. Very clean and cozy, great base to stay at. Will definitely be back!!

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The location was perfect for us. We did lots of walking straight out of the door and also drove to Allonby and Keswick. We'd definitely like to visit again

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Dodd cottage. The location for us was ideal, peaceful with stunning views. Dodd forest was a five minute drive and perfect for our two dogs. The cottage is well equipped with comfy sofas and comfy beds.

Fantastic quiet location with plenty of walks straight from the house. The accommodation was well equipped. The cake and milk was a lovely welcoming touch.

A lovely place to stay, would definitely recommend

The ground floor is split in to a kitchen and dining area, and lounge. The first floor has a double bedroom with en-suite WC, a twin bedded room and a family bathroom.

A lobby leads to an open plan ground floor with fitted kitchen, dining table & chairs and lounge area. A double and twin bedroom together with the family bathroom occupy the first floor.

Dodd has a first floor mezanine double bed and a ground-floor twin bedroom. A fitted kitchen, dining table & chairs and lounge occupy the remainder of the ground floor along with a shower room.

Five Star Hospitality

At Melbecks we aim to provide you with all the essential necessities for you to have a relaxing and care-free holiday. Here is a list ot the items that are provided when you book one of our cottages.

White cotton bed linen – all beds have mattress & pillow protectors and are made up with a bottom sheet, duvet and two pillows per person.
Hand towel, personal bath towels and bath mat.

In the bathroom we provide toilet rolls and basic cleaning materials and hand soap. In the kitchen we provide:

Washing up cloth, sponge and brush
Washing up liquid and dish washer tablets.
Laundry washing liquid
Multi-surface cleaner
